Aurangabad: City police booked a 31-year-old man on charges of raping a woman with two small children and then forcing her to undergo abortion on multiple occasions in the past few years.The victim first came in touch with the man five years back, when she shifted to Aurangabad as she was pursuing a case in the family court here against her husband. The accused, a dealer in used vehicles, operates his business out of Garkheda.Police said the woman had been married to a man in a neighbouring district about 10 years ago. The case has been booked after the woman approached Pundalik Nagar police with her complaint on Tuesday. The woman has mentioned that she was forced to undergo abortion at least five times.Police are still to arrest the man, and a hunt is on to nab him.The woman said she had been befriended by the man who promised to marry her and entered into a sexual relationship claiming he would take care of her two children too. She said she was raped at different locations in the city, including insider her own house.After about five abortions, when the woman insisted on marriage, the man began to avoid her, the woman said. One attempt to persuade him to marry her resulted in physical violence, she said. The man’s wife too reportedly threatened her. Finding that she had been cheated and abused, the woman approached police.Investigation officer SR Pawar said the man is on the run.
