Aurangabad: Fulfilling the long-pending demand of passengers from Marathwada, the South Central Railway (SCR) will introduce a new train between Nanded and Delhi via Aurangabad from March 19.The new train, Marathwada Sampark Kranti Express, will initially run as a weekly train covering Parbhani, Jalna, Aurangabad, Manmad, Jalgaon, Bhopal, Jhansi, Agra, among other stations.Currently, Nanded-Delhi Sachkhand Express that runs on weekdays is the only train available from Aurangabad for raveling to the national capital.An SCR official on Tuesday said that the Railway Board had given approval to the major long-distance train a few days before the model code of conduct for Lok Sabha polls came into place.“The maiden journey of the train will be flagged off without any major inaugural function involving public representatives due to the model code of conduct,” he said.Rajesh Shinde, public relations officer for Nanded division of SCR, said the rake of Marathwada Sampark Kranti Express would be maintained at Nanded.“The train will comprise two 3-tier AC, one 2-tier AC, six Sleeper class, four general second class and two other coaches.
