Postal dept launches special Rakhi cover

Aurangabad: The Department of Posts has come out with a special tamper-proof and water-resistant covers to dispatch Rakhhi's ahead of Rakha Bandhan.Launching the cover here on Tuesday, Aurangabad circle postmaster general Pranav Kumar said special outlets would be set up outside girls colleges and ladies hostels. "Girls can use the special customised cover to send Rakhis to their brothers. Cash prizes will be awarded to winners from each circle. The letter should be written on an inland letter not exceeding 500 words or on plain A4 size sheet not exceeding 1,000 words and sent through embossed envelope, an official release said.The letter can be posted in the special letter box or existing letter box with mention of letter writing campaign on envelope. The last date for posting these letters is August 15.

These specially-designed covers will definitely double the joy of the festival because of its features involved," he said.Besides being available for sale at the postal outlets, these covers can be also purchased from post men offering door services.Entries invited for letter-writing contestThe postal authorities have also invited entries for national-level letter writing competition themed on the Father of Nation Mahatma Gandhi.Dear Bapu (Mahatma Gandhi), you inspire me, has been the theme of the contest which is open to all age groups. The letter should be written on an inland letter not exceeding 500 words or on plain A4 size sheet not exceeding 1,000 words and sent through embossed envelope, an official release said.The letter can be posted in the special letter box or existing letter box with mention of letter writing campaign on envelope. The last date for posting these letters is August 15. Cash prizes will be awarded to winners from each circle.
