CAP admission: Edu dept releases 2nd list before scheduled time

Aurangabad: After facing flak for delay in releasing first merit list online for admission to First Year Junior College (FYJC) or Class XI for Aurangabad and few others cities, the competent authorities from the education department on Thursday released the second list much before the scheduled time of 5 pm.Several students, who had annoying experience of delay occurred at the time of release of first list on July 10, were taken by surprise as the second list was uploaded by early afternoon."The list was expected to be out by 5 pm last time, but was not available till late night. I thought similar glitch will occur today as well, but things worked out pretty well," said a Class XI aspirant student, preferring anonymity."The admissions as per allotment in second round will take place till July 24. As announced earlier, those students who have been allotted with first choice college during second round, need to report to their respective institution and confirm admission before July 24," Vaijanath Khandke, Aurangabad deputy director of education, said.He added, "Students who have been allotted with college mentioned in choice between 2 and 10, have two options now. They can either take admission as per allotment or take part in the third round."As per official schedule, cut-off for second round and details of vacant seats will be made available online on designated website by July 25. The process of option-filling and online registration by completing part I and II for those who have not done so far will be facilitated in two days beginning July 26.The third list for FYJC admissions for Aurangabad is scheduled to be out on July 29, followed by fourth list, after completing necessary formalities, on August 6. Original Class X mark-sheet and school leaving certificate along with caste and related certificates need to be carried by students while reporting to allotted college for securing admission. The authorities had declared an intake capacity of 22,940 seats for Arts, Commerce and Science streams across 89 colleges in Aurangabad.The admissions for Home Science courses along with Urdu, Telugu, Guajarati, Hindi mediums, however, has not been covered under the CAP and the same will carried out at institution-level. "Similarly, admissions for night schools will not be covered under the CAP," authorities reiterated.
