Anganwadi workers resort to rasta roko in Beed

On the other hand, a union territory like Pondicherry pays Rs 19,480 and Rs 13,330 to the workers. We have also submitted a list of remuneration that is currently being paid to the workers in different states. Similarly, the neighbouring states like Andhra Pradesh and Telangana pay their workers adequately," he added.Deshmukh also pointed out that on June 6, the minister for women and child welfare Pankaja Munde had a detailed discussion with the anganwadi workers. We expected that the resolution would be issued before the monsoon session, but that did not happen.

Aurangabad: Anganwadi workers in huge numbers staged a rasta-roko agitation on Thursday at the Solapur highway in Beed.The workers were protesting against the government for not keeping up the promise for an adequate remuneration.Speaking to TOI Bhagwan Deshmukh, the state unit president of the Maharashtra Rajya Anganwadi Karmchari Kruti Samiti said, "The organisation has been taking out rallies, conducting corner meetings and urging the authorities to improve the remuneration of anganwadi workers and their helpers. "We are staging demonstrations to draw the attention of the government who is responsible for the welfare of the common people," he added.He also said that instead of issuing a government resolution, the minister resorted to killing time keeping over 2 lakh workers wait for their remuneration hike. We expected that the resolution would be issued before the monsoon session, but that did not happen.
