This will take some time, but once it is in place, we will be able to keep tab on the movement of the mothers and the history of the events."On Monday, an NMC squad had seized a sonography machine mounted on a car by a Satpur-based doctor. It was found that the doctor was going around in the tribal-dominated areas of the district and was conducting sonography test, which is prohibited under the Pre-Conception and Pre-Natal Diagnostic Techniques (PCPNDT) Act. The NMC has suspended the registration of the radiologist and sealed his sonography centre."The district administration is are now planning to ask radiologists to keep record of the MCTS of every patient. The radiologist does not have to reject services to any woman who does not have the MCTS number, but the details have to be provided to the administration," Radhakrishna said."This will help in two ways. First, we will be able to track the would-be mothers who take the services of radiologists for whatever reasons and secondly, if the mother does not have MCTS, the administration will reach out to her and provide one. If she is registered and failed to produce the same, it will be the administration's look out," the collector said.Radhakrishna also said that the administration would be taking the radiologists into confidence before making it compulsory. The records maintained by them will only have one more aspect, he said.
