Teasing over a WhatsApp profile picture turned into a violent fight between schoolmates in Karnataka’s Bengaluru.

An 18 year only boy, identified as Sandeep M, resident of Kannamangala locality under the territorial jurisdiction Kadugodi police station was allegedly attacked by dagger and knuckle punchers by his schoolmate and his associates on Thursday.

Sandeep M, in his complaint, has stated that his schoolmate, Srinivas, who stays nearby, "teased and insulted" him for his WhatsApp display picture in which he was wearing oversized glasses. Srinivas asked Sandeep to take down the picture, saying that it was girly. This lead to a heated argument between them filled with choicest expletives.

Srinivas asked Sandeep to come to Seegehalli. When he arrived at the location with his brother, Srinivas, along with his cousins and friends Chandru PT, Govardhan and Gowtham, attacked him a dagger and knuckle punchers and fled. Sandeep suffered an injury to his heard, according to a news report.

Sandeep was taken to a private hospital for medical care. The following day, he lodged a complaint at the Kadugodi police station. “The four accused have been booked for criminal assault using dangerous weapons or means, wrongful restraint, unlawful assemble and intentional insult provoking breach of peach” a police official said. No one has been arrested as of yet.
