Councillor Chandni Naik alleged that she had to undergo an abortion on doctor`s advice less than a month after the BJP MLA from Terdal, Siddu Savadi allegedly shoved her

Chandni was allegedly manhandled by the BJP MLA during civic body polls in Bagalkot on November 9, an allegation dismissed by him.

The incident took place when the councillor was on her way to the Town Municipal Council building in Mahalingapura to file nominations for contesting the municipal council presidency.

"I was shoved and pushed from the main gate to the entrance of the building. I hit the gate after which it (complications) started," Naik told reporters in Mahalingapura.

Chandni’s husband alleged that Savadi and his supporters pushed her wife who was three months pregnant and also dragged on the floor of the building, asserting that he would take legal action against the lawmaker.

"BJP MLA Siddu Savadi and his supporters pushed my wife who was three months pregnant. She has now suffered an abortion. We will fight this legally," Nagesh said,
