Meet Basavaraj Bommai, New CM Of Karnataka, Watch Family Sing To Celebrate

New CM said that he will focus on maintaining fiscal discipline through efficient utilization of resources and reducing expenditure amid COVID-19.

Basavaraj Bommai, an engineer in Tata Motors Or Telco, walked a long way towards his career journey. Elected as the 30th chief minister of Karnataka on July 27 and was sworn in the next day, he replaced BS Yediyurappa and will take charge of the state for the remaining time until assembly elections in 2023.
 
Basavaraj Somappa Bommai was born on January 28, 1960, to SR Bommai and Gangamma S Bommai in Hubli. He belongs to the Lingayat community, which accounts for 17 percent of Karnataka’s population. A soft-spoken man and non-aggressive compared to some of his peers, Bommai has kept a clean image at the party.

This good news of becoming the CM of the state, blossoms happiness and joy in his family. In a video on Twitter, it is seen that his family members sing to wish congratulations and good luck for his work. 

With no delay at work, Basavaraj Bommai on Tuesday announced some key decisions. Addressing a press conference, Bommai announced a new scholarship scheme for the children of farmers worth Rs 1000 crore.

The Chief Minister also announced that widow pension has been increased from Rs 600 to Rs 800 at an additional cost of Rs 414 crore.

“Widow pension has been increased from Rs.600 to Rs.800 at an additional cost of Rs 414 crore helping 17.25 lakh beneficiaries. Financial assistance for Divyang people is increased from Rs 600 to Rs 800 at a cost of Rs 90 crore helping 3.66 lakh beneficiaries,” he announced.

He further said that the state government will focus on maintaining fiscal discipline through efficient utilization of resources and reducing expenditure amid COVID-19.
