Kolar police have arrested two persons including a woman for molesting and assaulting a 19 -year-old girl at Sarwadharam colony on Sunday. The accused identified as Rupesh Rajput was acquainted with the victim as the two were neighbours. The accused used to molest her and on Sunday evening when she was on her way to home accused hold her hand and molested her. The victim opposed after which the accused left the spot and threatened her. Frustrated over the actions of the accused victim went to his house and complaint with his wife where accused and his wife assaulted the victim. The victim returned home and reported the incident to her family and later a complaint was lodged with the Kolar police. Based on the complaint after the preliminary investigation a case of molestation and assault was registered and Rajesh and his wife were arrested later in the investigation. Meanwhile, the excise department has nabbed two miscreants from Kajlikheda and Jhiri villages and recovered 5000 kg of raw material of county-made liquor on Monday. According to the excise officials, acting of a tip-off, raw material used for county-made liquor which was hidden in plastic bags were recovered. A case under section 34 (2) of the Excise Act was registered and further investigation has been started. Crime record of the nabbed accused would be investigated in the further investigation. The recovered raw material which was worth Rs 2.5 lakh was disposed by the excise department teams.
