Dinesh Verma, founder, and CEO of Delhi based Pendown Press recently announced the Awards for Authors. At the time of a pandemic when people are going through a plethora of emotions the Pendown press, an offshoot of The GullyBaba Publishings took this initiative to encourage and salute the Authors who did not allow any depressive thought to overcome them. Right from the coming international book fair Pen down press will have awards in 5 different categories. Pendown people’s choice awards, lockdown loyalty awards, the best debutant author award for male authors, the best debutant author award for female authors, and the Author of the decade are all the awards that will be presented to the authors. The most gripping awards amongst all are the ‘Lockdown loyalty award’ which has been introduced to honor those authors who braved lockdown and came out with a book that spellbound the readers. Verma talks about the awards and its specialties. “When a female author will get the best debutant female award, her contemporaries will feel motivated. Similarly, when a person will come to know post-Covid that someone got Lockdown Loyalty Award, he or she will feel motivated," he added. Verma talks about the silver lining during the lockdown. “Lockdown has thrown the life of the people out-of-gear. But, the silver lining is that it has given them ample amount of time to revisit their inner self. So, I think those who dare to do what others dither, deserve an award. Our Lockdown Loyalty Award is completely driven by lockdown during Covid.”
