Heavy rain lashes Bhopal as monsoon reaches State

With heavy rainfall, southwest monsoon reached few regions of Bhopal division on Friday while it also covered most of the parts of Jabalpur, Hoshangabad, Indore, Shahdol divisions.In the past 24 hours most of the regions of Shahdol, Hoshangabad and Jabalpur divisions recorded heavy rainfall. Southwest Monsoon will prevail over some parts of North Arabian Sea and some more parts of South Gujarat, South Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh and North Bay of Bengal. Most parts and more parts of West Bengal have again moved forward. Due to the low pressure area and its remnants, the east and west branches of southwest monsoon are likely to prevail, due to which the possibility of further progress of southwest monsoon has increased over most parts of the country. From today onwards, heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely at isolated places with isolated rain at many places over east Madhya Pradesh and very heavy at isolated places over East Madhya Pradesh.

Dense cloud cover was witnessed which poured heavily in the evening and which remained for few hours. Sheopur and Gwalior recorded day temperature at 40.8 degree which was highest in the state on Friday. Southwest Monsoon will prevail over some parts of North Arabian Sea and some more parts of South Gujarat, South Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh and North Bay of Bengal. Most parts and more parts of West Bengal have again moved forward. Due to the low pressure area and its remnants, the east and west branches of southwest monsoon are likely to prevail, due to which the possibility of further progress of southwest monsoon has increased over most parts of the country. From today onwards, heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely at isolated places with isolated rain at many places over east Madhya Pradesh and very heavy at isolated places over East Madhya Pradesh. Further advance of Southwest Monsoon into more parts of Gujarat, remaining parts of Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Odisha, entire West Bengal, Jharkhand and Bihar and some parts of East Uttar Pradesh and remaining parts of North Bay of Bengal during next 48 hours.Thunderstorm accompanied by moderate to intense lightning and thundershower accompanied by frequent cloud to ground lightning and gusty winds very likely to occur over the state.
