CM promises land titles to needy homeless

Bhopal: Harda is going to become a 100% irrigated district, chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan promised at a Kisan Sammelan on Thursday, where he dedicated to the people of projects worth over Rs 4,459 crore.In Khargone on the same day, the CM said that needy persons would be given land titles for residential purposes. He performed bhoomi pujan of projects worth Rs 3,673 crore in Khargone district.Interest-free loans are being provided to farmers, and the Centre and state together are giving Rs 12,000 to each farmer a year, he said at the Kisan and Ladli Bahna Sammelan in Khargone, adding that a scheme for setting up transformers on subsidy is being launched.Farmers who suffered losses due to the recent floods will be compensated, along with those whose houses were destroyed or damaged, he assured. The CM ordered officials to carry out the surveys diligently.Among the projects in Khargone are Jhirnya and Bistan lift irrigation schemes worth Rs 1,386 crore and Rs 515 crore. Khargone has also got a medical college.In Harda, he said that a dream has come true in Harda as it is going to be a 100% irrigated district. Loans are being provided to farmers at 0% interest, and to free them from debt, an interest of Rs 2,200 crore was paid by the government, the CM said. Under the crop insurance scheme, insurance claims worth more than Rs 20,000 crore were paid by the state government to farmers.He said that all the schemes of PM Modi are being implemented in MP. Those left out of PM Awas and Awas-Plus schemes will be provided houses under Mukhyamantri Awas Yojana, he said.
