A 35-year-old married woman was killed and her two brothers were injured severely after they were attacked by miscreants who were enraged over her complaint with police which got them arrested on Wednesday at Crusher Basti in Ayodhya Nagar of the state capital; the accused had a dispute with children of the deceased. The accused entered the house and attacked her and her two brothers were also seriously injured. Both are undergoing treatment at Hamidia Hospital. The condition of one of them remains critical. The police have registered a case and started an investigation. According to the information, Saroj alias Bunty Athiya (35), wife of Vinod Athiya, resident of Kresar Basti, was a housewife. Husband Vinod is a driver. Has two sons Rajul (12) and Raja (14). The younger son was playing cricket near the house on Tuesday afternoon. While playing, he had a dispute with Chhotu, Mohan and Golu who lived in the neighbourhood. They had beaten the child. The childs mother complained about this matter in the police station. On Wednesday, the police detained these accused and later released them. After returning from the police station, the three accused along with their associates Prakash and Nilesh attacked the woman at around 9 pm. At the time of incident the womans brother Vicky and Virendra along with her two sons were in the house. The husband had gone to work when the accused tried to kill the children. The children escaped to save their lives, after which they attacked the woman several times with a sharp edged weapon. Later, the accused also attacked both the brothers of the woman who were defending them with swords and sticks. Due to this the woman became unconscious and fell on the ground. The children called their father and informed him about the matter. He reached the spot and took both the injured Saal and his wife to the hospital. Where the doctors checked and declared the woman dead. The deceaseds husband Vinod has raised questions on the police regarding the murder. He said that the accused have attacked twice in the past. They used to beat children every day due to disputes. We have already lodged two complaints in the police station. The police never took effective action due to which they killed his wife. Even on Tuesday, the police registered an FIR against the accused but under ordinary sections, detained them and released them after some time. Due to this, their courage increased and they entered the house and attacked. If the police took strict action against the accused in time, her life could have been saved.
