Important decisions should be taken soon for the honour of Gaumata: CM

Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, in a discussion with the ministers today before the meeting of the Council of Ministers in Mantralaya, said that some important decisions have to be taken soon in the honour of the gaumata in the state. Yadav said that often during the rainy season, there are reports of accidents involving cows on major roads and highways. Many times cows are killed in accidents. Therefore, there should be a system that ensures that cows are not wandering on the streets and they are given space in cow sheds or safe places. Apart from this, a decision will be taken to increase the amount and honorarium for cow shelters. Necessary arrangements will be made for the cow. If any cow dies, arrangements should be made for her respectable cremation. The responsibility of Gram Panchayat, Municipal Council and Municipal Corporation will be determined in this regard. Necessary budget allocation will be made for Samadhi or cremation to ensure that the remains of the cow are given due respect. The members of the Cabinet welcomed the announcement of Chief Minister Yadav by thumping the tables. They said that the cooperation of social organizations should also be taken in this work. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav instructed the Animal Husbandry and Dairy Department to make necessary preparations in this regard so that arrangements can be ensured before the rainy season. Animal Husbandry Minister Lakhan Patel said that he will soon invite cowshed operators to a meeting and seek suggestions. Chief Minister Yadav instructed the Animal Husbandry Department to organize the meeting this month. He said that mayors of cities and officials associated with civic bodies and other public representatives should also be included in this meeting. Discussions were also held on better operation of cow shelters, control on free movement of cattle, cooperation by police and obtaining funds for infrastructure works in this regard from the Central Government.
