Army Law Institute, Pune wins national moot court competition

The teams of Army Law Institute, Pune, and Oriental University, Indore were declared the winner and runner-up, respectively, of the 4th Padma Shri Dr. NN Jain National Moot Court Competition organized by the Department of Law of Prestige Institute of Management and Research (PIMR). The winning and runner-up teams were awarded cash prizes of Rs 35,000 and Rs 25,000, respectively, along with trophies and certificates by the guests.  Rajiv Gandhi National Law University, Patiala, was declared the winner of the Best Memorial Award, while Durgash Nandini of Oriental University, Indore, was awarded the Best Speaker award. Shreya Khare of the Career College of Law, Bhopal, was awarded the Best Researcher award. Addressing the students at the valedictory ceremony, the chief guest, Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime), Indore, Manoj Shrivastava, said that law is a very interesting field. Advocacy is a noble profession, provided it is done justly, you will shine like a star. He told the students that they may face difficulties in the early days of their careers, but they should remain steadfast on their career path and face the challenges with enthusiasm, success will one day kiss their feet. Special guest, former judge, Madhya Pradesh High Court, Indore Bench, Justice Ishwar Sahay Srivastava, said that to become a good lawyer, students should adopt the 3D formula, in which the main thing is determination, deep knowledge of the case and deep knowledge of the subject. While sharing his experiences in the field of law in his life through cases, he informed the students that a lawyer should understand the evidence well and only then fight the cases. He told the students that they should read as many books as possible available in Indian literature so that they can use the law to deliver justice and establish themselves in the field of justice. Associate Dean of Adamas University, Kolkata, Prof. Dr. Souvik Roy, asked the students to try to fulfill their duty with full dedication, keeping in mind the ideals of Swami Vivekananda, and contributing to the establishment of a strong justice system in the country in the coming time.
