A fire broke out in an auto parts shop near Islami Gate on Hamidia Road, Bhopal. Due to this, goods worth lakhs of rupees were burnt to ashes. The fire was controlled in time, otherwise it would have engulfed the nearby shops as well and a massive mishap was averted. The incident occurred late at night on Monday. All the goods kept in the shop were burnt. Fire brigade from Fatehgarh, Kabadkhana fire station reached the spot and brought the fire under control. The fire could be brought under control in about an hour. Apart from auto parts items, seat covers and foam were also kept inside the shop. Because of this the fire became severe. Despite the shutters being closed, flames were rising from inside, which rose up to 10-15 feet. There were difficulties in controlling the fire due to the shutters being installed. In such a situation the shutter was removed. Then the fire could be controlled. Preliminary investigation has revealed that the fire occurred due to a short circuit.
