Bhopal records 44.4 degree C, max temperature in season

Blistering hot conditions are witnessed in the state capital and would continue for a few more days according to the Met. The Met has issued an alert of severe heat waves, heat waves and hot nights at several places in the state in the next 24 hours. Datia, Bhind and Niwari districts would witness severe heat waves, Rajgarh, Barwani, Ashoknagar, Neemuch, Shivpuri, Morena, Sheopurkalan, Tikamgarh and Ratlam, Dhar would witness heat waves while Dindori, Seoni, Balaghat, Chhindwara districts would witness thunder storms and light rainfall. The cities of Gwalior, Chambal and Malwa-Nimar of Madhya Pradesh are witnessing intense hot conditions. Ratlam remains the hottest since the last 2 days. At the same time, the temperature has reached record levels in Bhopal-Indore, while heat wave is affecting Gwalior-Chambal. Senior Meteorologist of Meteorological Department said, there will be intense heat in the entire state from May 24-25. Severe heat wave alert has also been issued. Earlier on Wednesday also there was severe heat. The mercury was recorded at 45 degrees in Ratlam. Ratlam remained the hottest in the state for the second consecutive day. Whereas, Bhopal and Indore were the hottest of the season. The temperature was recorded at 43.9 degrees in Bhopal and 43.4 degrees Celsius in Indore. The temperature was 43.7 degrees in Gwalior, 43.8 degrees in Ujjain and 42 degrees in Jabalpur. There was light rain in Bhopal in the evening, but after this the effect of humidity also increased. Shivpuri, Sagar, Naugaon, Datia, Guna, Khajuraho, Khandwa, Khargone, Shajapur, Damoh and Dhar recorded temperatures of 44 degrees or more. In the next 24 hours along with the scorching heat, there will also be thunderstorms and rain. Apart from the scorching heat, the Meteorological Department has also issued an alert of thunderstorm and rain in Betul, Chhindwara, Pandhurna, Seoni, Balaghat on Thursday. There is a circle of cyclonic winds over Rajasthan. Trough line is also passing. Due to this, the moisture coming from the Bay of Bengal and Arabian Sea is active in the form of clouds. Along with this, there is a low pressure area in the south-west Bay of Bengal. Due to this also the effect of heat has increased.
