CEO inspects counting centres at Sehore, Dewas

Chief Electoral Officer (Madhya Pradesh) Anupam Rajan today, visited Government Womens Polytechnic College, Sehore. He took stock of the preparations being made for counting of votes of 4 assemblies of the district falling under 3 parliamentary constituencies on 4th June under the Lok Sabha Elections-2024. took. Chief Electoral Officer Rajan was given detailed information by Collector and District Election Officer Praveen Singh about the arrangements and preparations being made for the counting of votes. Chief Electoral Officer Rajan visited the counting rooms made assembly-wise and took stock of the preparations. He also saw the preparations being made for the counting of postal ballots and the security arrangements of the strong room. He took information about the counting table, the number of staff engaged in counting, security arrangements, the number of postal ballots, etc. He also saw the CCTV live display of the strong room for the representatives of the election candidates in the counting venue premises and the arrangements for monitoring the strong room from the room itself. Chief Electoral Officer Rajan also gave necessary instructions for better arrangements. Chief Electoral Officer Rajan instructed that the counting of votes for the Lok Sabha elections will start from 8 am on June 4, 2024. He gave instructions to ensure that there is a continuous supply of electricity on the day of counting and that the counting work is not affected due to any reason. He said that all the arrangements at the counting venue should operate smoothly. During the inspection, Sehore SP Mayank Awasthi, Additional Collector Vrindavan Singh, ASP Geetesh Garg, Joint Collector and Deputy District Election Officer Anand Singh Rajawat and other officers were present. Later, Chief Electoral Officer (Madhya Pradesh) Anupam Rajan arrived at the "Kendriya Vidyalaya Bank Note Press" in Dewas on 23 May and inspected the counting venue. Under the Lok Sabha Elections-2024, counting of votes will be held in 5 assembly constituencies of Dewas district on June 4. Chief Electoral Officer Rajan visited the counting rooms arranged assembly wise and took stock of the preparations. During this, it was told that the counting of votes in Dewas and Hatpipalya assembly constituencies will be held in separate halls located on the ground floor of Kendriya Vidyalaya. Whereas the counting of votes of Sonkatch, Khategaon and Bagli assembly constituencies will be held in the rooms located on the first floor. Chief Electoral Officer Rajan also inspected the security arrangements of the strong room. He apprised himself regarding the counting tables, number of officers/employees engaged in counting, security arrangements. Chief Electoral Officer Rajan also inspected the control room set-up at Kendriya Vidyalaya Bank Note Press, Dewas. He also discussed with the representatives of the election candidates present at the counting venue premises and saw the monitoring arrangements of the strong room from the chamber itself through CCTV. During the inspection, Chief Electoral Officer Rajan also gave necessary guidelines regarding vote counting arrangements. Collector and District Election Officer Dewas Rishav Gupta gave apprised about the preparations being made for counting of votes. During this, Superintendent of Police Sampat Upadhyay, CEO District Panchayat Himanshu Prajapati, Additional Collector Praveen Phulpagare, ASP Jaiveer Singh Bhadauria and other officers were present.
