Chief Minister Mohan Yadav stated that, under Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modis initiative, various efforts are being made to eliminate the remnants of colonialism in the country. As part of this effort, many laws will be implemented in a new form starting July 1. To emphasize justice over punishment and protect the constitutional rights of Indian citizens, three bills have been repealed and replaced with new punitive bills. It is essential to ensure that this information is made available to the general public. Yadav conveyed this message during a video conference with all the collectors, commissioners, and senior police officers of the state. Chief Minister Yadav said that bills and acts dating back to the British era include the Indian Penal Code 1860, Code of Criminal Procedure (1898), 1973, and the Indian Evidence Act 1872. The Indian Penal Code 1860 will be replaced by the Indian Penal Code Bill 2023. The Code of Criminal Procedure 1898 will be replaced by the Indian Civil Defense Code Bill 2023. Similarly, the Indian Evidence Act 1872 has been replaced by the Indian Evidence Bill 2023. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that information about these laws should also be provided to the general public through various seminars, webinars and through campaigns. In the video conference, Director General of Police Shri Sudhir Kumar Saxena said that special programs are being organized on July 1 in all 982 police stations of the state to provide information about the new laws. Their detailed description has been provided to the police personnel. Exhibitions related to the new laws have also been organized in the past.
