AIIMS Bhopal has made a tremendous leap in the national ranking of government medical colleges, securing the 16th position across the country. This remarkable achievement was highlighted in an article published in the July issue of Readers Digest, which noted that AIIMS Bhopal was unranked two years ago but has since made significant progress. In 2023, AIIMS Bhopal was ranked 20th, and in 2024, it climbed four places to reach the 16th position. This dramatic improvement is attributed to the leadership of Professor (Dr) Ajai Singh, who took charge as the Executive Director of AIIMS Bhopal in August 2022. Under his guidance, several decisive measures were implemented to strengthen the institutions credibility and performance. A few Milestones Achieved Under Professor Singhs Leadership are: The number of OPD patients increased by 56%. Admissions in IPD rose from 32,000 to 50,000. There was a 170% increase in emergency cases. Bed occupancy rates improved from 62% to 77%. The number of beneficiaries under this scheme grew by 53%, reaching 13,337. These achievements reflect the significant improvements made under Professor Singhs tenure, positioning AIIMS Bhopal as a rapidly advancing institution in the healthcare sector. AIIMS Bhopal has also made remarkable progress in the field of medical research, contributing to the institutions overall growth and recognition.
