Glaucoma specialist Dr. Samta Patel performed a successful surgery of Glaucoma on Right eye of five-month-old baby Mitansh at Sewa Sadan Eye Hospital the other day. Mitansh Is son of Radha and Rajkumar Parihar presently residing at Bhopal. Rajkumar works in event management and decorate flowers on the stage. Their income is low. Five months ago their child was born. After a few days, Mother Radha felt that her baby was not able to see properly from his right eye and his eye was also watering continuously. Later, this discharge stop and babys right eye pupil started turning white. To see anything, the child had to combine his pupil of both eyes. In other situation, signs of strains were also clearly visible on his face and eyes. This was worrying for the couple. First of all, the couple got his baby examined with an ophthalmologists and then they came to know that the baby had a Glaucoma in his right eye. The doctor advised them to get the babys eyes treated at AIIMS Delhi or any major ophthalmology hospital in Chennai. Meanwhile, Rajkumars friends also advised him to go to Sewa Sadan Eye Hospital and get the baby diagnosed and treated. Radha and Rajkumar got the baby examined by glaucoma specialist Dr. Samta Patel. After detailed investigations, Dr. Samta performed a successful Glaucoma surgery on the infant on July 19, 2024. Dr. Samta told that the size of the pupil of the childs right eye was larger than normal and the pupil was white. Normal pressure of the both eyes was also abnormal and the optic nerve was also effected. Dr. Samta further told that the enlargement of the pupil, tears from the eyes, whitening and the parents experiencing low vision are the symptoms of congenital glaucoma. Which requires immediate Glaucoma surgery. After the successful surgery, the couple came with their baby today for follow up checkup. Within ten days the babys right eye became normal. Now the baby does not have to strain to see any object. Seeing the people standing around, the child has started spreading a childlike smiles. The babys parents are very happy with the positive changes in his eyes.
