Unemployed youth demonstrate at Staff Selection Board office

  • | Tuesday | 6th August, 2024

Unemployment Forum and Political Student Union demonstrated in front of Madhya Pradesh Staff Selection Board on Monday. Students have demanded an increase in the post of Sub Engineer 2024 Civil Engineering. Aarti Sharma, who participated in the demonstration, said that this time about 283 vacancies of Sub Engineer have been released. In which there is also a quota for women and Divyang. Whereas 588 vacancies were to be released. We have come here with the demands of an increase in posts. We are all students from different districts, who are preparing for the exam. These students have also submitted a memorandum to the board. In which they have written that no vacancy has been released this year in many departments of Civil Engineering like Rural Mechanical Services (RES), Water Resources Department (WRD), Urban Development Department (UADD), Housing Board. The lack of vacancies in these important departments is very disappointing for the students, and this is adversely affecting the employment prospects of the students. Therefore, it is requested that vacancies should be released in these departments as well so that all eligible candidates can get adequate employment opportunities. The students have also submitted a memorandum to the Staff Selection Board regarding the demands. Apart from this, vacancies have been released only for disabled candidates in Public Health Engineering (PHE) and Public Works Department (PWD) this year. This arrangement is very unfair because it is necessary to have vacancies for general candidates as well in these departments. Limiting such vacancies only to disabled candidates is unfair to other candidates.
