Late Sharmas contribution will be remembered: CM

Chief Minister Mohan Yadav paid tribute to former President Shankar Dayal Sharma on his birth anniversary, recognizing his unwavering service and dedication to the nation. Yadav highlighted Dr. Sharmas legacy as a distinguished leader of both Madhya Pradesh and the country. He also noted Sharmas active participation in the freedom struggle, underscoring his significant contributions to Indias history. Shankar Dayal Sharma, the 9th President of India, was born on August 19, 1918, in Bhopal. He assumed the Presidents office in 1992, following his tenure as the 8th Vice President of India, a position he held starting in 1987. Throughout his illustrious career, Sharma served in various significant roles, including Chief Minister of Bhopal State (1952-1956), Cabinet Minister in the Madhya Pradesh Government (1956-1971), and Union Communications Minister (1974-1977). He was also elected to the Lok Sabha twice and served as the Governor of Andhra Pradesh, Punjab, and Maharashtra.
