Innovation fest gets underway at RGPV

A two-day innovation festival got underway on Saturday at Rajiv Gandhi Proudyogiki Vishwavidyalaya (RGPV) campus in the state capital. The event, Srijan 2025, aims to showcase 150 innovations shortlisted from 1,627 student entries submitted from across Madhya Pradesh. Inaugurated by Higher Education Minister Inder Singh Parmar, the event is presided over by RGPV Vice-Chancellor Prof Rajeev Tripathi. It is being organised under the Innovate MP Mission with government support. Public Relations Officer Dr Shashiranjan Akela said the event is designed to help students turn ideas into practical solutions and link with industry for future startup ventures. The exhibition is open to all, with students presenting their models, prototypes and posters between 1 PM and 4 PM on both days. Visitors include startup representatives, educators and curious citizens. Registrar Prof Mohan Sen said Srijan 2025 aligns with the national goal of Viksit Bharat 2047, and promotes innovation in technical education aimed at solving grassroots challenges. Projects are divided into six categories: Industry (435), Smart Education (328), Health & Life Sciences (290), Rural Technology (222), Clean & Green Energy (214), and Waste Management (138).Each category will see a first, second and third prize, plus 12 consolation awards and one special empowerment award. Promising ideas may also get patent, startup and training support.
