Bhopals Buddhist viharas witnessed a sea of devotees as community members thronged to mark Buddha Purnima, celebrating the birth, enlightenment, and nirvana of Lord Buddha. The main ceremony began at 10 am and drew hundreds. Flowers were offered to Buddhas idol as monks delivered insightful sermons. Evening programmes featured cultural tributes to Buddhas philosophy, strengthening community bonds and spreading messages of peace and unity in todays fractured world. Buddha Purnima is unique as it commemorates all three transformative moments of Buddhas life—his birth in Lumbini, enlightenment in Bodh Gaya, and nirvana in Kushinagar. In Bhopal, the occasion reaffirmed the citys quiet but growing reverence for Buddhist teachings. Amid loud celebrations, the inner message remained one of silence, reflection and peace.
