Anti-encroachment drive held in Huzur

  • | Saturday | 17th May, 2025

The district administration on Thursday led a sweeping demolition drive, targeting illegal colonies, private structures and encroachments across the Huzur tehsil of the state capital. Government teams, aided by JCB machines and police, razed several permanent structures built on encroached land. The crackdown was part of a planned enforcement action following an official investigation. Huzur SDM Vinod Sonkia confirmed that illegal colonies were surveyed before action began. The demolitions took place in the presence of police to prevent any disruption or resistance. Encroachments were removed from government land in Gram Chhawani Pathar. JCB machines were used to demolish built structures, including homes and boundary walls. Officials also cleared land illegally occupied by Millennium College. The college was found to have encroached on government property, prompting swift and direct action. Mayuri Garden and Greenwood Farm were among the private properties targeted in the drive. Structures and landscaping features on encroached land were also removed. The administration said such drives will continue to reclaim public land and discourage illegal developments that strain civic resources and violate planning norms.
