BJP State President and Leader of Opposition Babulal Marandi has announced that BJP members will not attend the Tribal Advisory Council (TAC) meeting called by Chief Minister Hemant Soren government. Marandi said that the Hemant Soren government is an anti-tribal government. Tribal society is continuously suffering in Jharkhand for the last 5 years. He said that the Bharatiya Janata Party boycotts the meeting of the Tribal Advisory Council (TAC) chaired by Chief Minister Shri Hemant Soren. Marandi claimed that during the last 5 and a half years, atrocities are being continuously committed against the tribal society in Jharkhand. Bangladeshi infiltrators are encroaching upon the rights of the tribals, mining mafia is exploiting water-forest-land, but the Chief Minister never took cognizance of it. He added that the situation has become so bad that the person who tried to rape a tribal woman is being compensated by the Chief Minister. He said that when the government itself is encouraging and rewarding the oppression of tribals, then in such a situation there is no justification for attending the TAC meeting. He said that BJP is committed to protect the identity and existence of the tribal society. Our struggle will continue from the road to the House. Meanwhile, BJPs state spokesperson Pratul Shahdev, while addressing a press conference at the state headquarters today, said that on the issue of Sarna Dharma Code, Congress and Jharkhand Mukti Morcha are shedding crocodile tears and pretending to protest. Pratul said that in the joint UPA government of Congress and JMM, the then Tribal Welfare Minister V Kishore Chandra Dev had rejected the Sarna Dharma Code on February 11, 2014 through letter number 16012 /19/2013 / (PC & V), calling it impractical. Tribal Welfare Minister Kishore Chandra Dev had also said that accepting such a demand can lead to hundreds of demands from other religions as well. That is why this demand is being opposed. Pratul said that Congress and Jharkhand Mukti Morcha have been completely exposed on the issue of Sarna Dharma Code. He said that when they were in power in the centre, they had rejected it. Today, when they are out of power in the centre, they are talking about agitation on this. The public understands all their tricks. Pratul said that Congress and JMM have crossed all limits of shamelessness. Forgetting their misdeed of rejecting the demand for Sarna Dharma Code in 2014, they are once again talking about agitation and dharna demonstrations.
