Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav emphasized the vital role of social media in disseminating factual information and strengthening democratic systems during the inaugural session of a Digital Marketing Workshop organized by the Tribal Research Institute (TRI) for tribal social media influencers. The workshop commenced at the Tribal Museum with a Deep-Prajjwalan ceremony and floral tributes to portraits of tribal freedom fighters. Dr. Yadav was welcomed with a traditional tulsi plant, rudraksha mala, and shawl. The event featured Dr. Himanshu Rai, Director of IIM Indore, as the keynote speaker. Also present were Additional Chief Secretary and TRI Director Vinod Kumar, former Chairperson of Bal Bharti Nishant Khare, and Public Relations Commissioner and Secretary Sudam Khade. Speaking at the event, Dr. Yadav said social media is a simple yet transformative technology that enhances individual talent and potential. In a democracy where equal opportunities are available to all, access to such technology is a blessing, he remarked. He added that Prime Minister Narendra Modi recognizes the power of social media and actively encourages citizens to engage with digital platforms to drive self-improvement and societal progress. Quoting Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, Dr. Yadav highlighted the power of determination in making history. He noted how Netaji gave up his ICS career to showcase Indian talent to the world. Dr. Yadav also underscored the need for social media influencers to highlight underrepresented stories of Indias rich heritage, citing Queen Durgavatis three-time victory over Emperor Akbar as an example. Dr. Himanshu Rai spoke on the qualities of social media influencers, emphasizing leadership, responsibility towards followers, and the importance of effective communication. He noted that success requires consistent effort and determination alongside hard work. TRI Additional Commissioner Laxman Singh Markam explained that the workshop aligns with Chief Minister Dr. Yadavs vision. It aims to train tribal influencers to create digital content in local dialects to promote tribal culture and disseminate information about government welfare schemes. The initiative is expected to empower youth with digital marketing skills. A total of 276 participants from across Madhya Pradesh have registered for the workshop, with 76 influencers boasting a combined social media following of over 200,000. The first phase of the workshop includes mentorship from eight subject experts.
