  • | Monday | 2nd June, 2025

On the occasion of Hindi Journalism Day, Ujjain Municipal Corporation Chairperson Kalavati Yadav emphasized the parallel roles of politicians and journalists, calling both professions "residing in a kajal ki kothari (a room full of soot), with only those emerging unblemished truly deserving honor." Her comments came during a workshop organized by the Press Club on Friday, where senior journalists were honored for their contributions with shawls and coconut offerings. Addressing the gathering, District In-charge Minister Gautam Tetwal expressed his admiration for the strong camaraderie among journalists at the Press Club. He lauded the active role of the media in disseminating information about public welfare initiatives being carried out under the leadership of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav. Collector Roshan Kumar Singh, the keynote speaker, urged journalists to prioritize public welfare over personal gain. He stressed the importance of journalists going beyond simply recording incidents, encouraging them to help victims in accidents and ensure that government schools were offering quality education for rural children.
