The operation, codenamed Muskaan, ran from May 1 to May 31 under the directive of the Police Headquarters. It was led by Inspector General Anurag, with guidance from DIGs Nimish Agrawal and Siddharth Bahuguna. Superintendents of Police from various districts formed special teams to act in mission mode. These teams worked around the clock, expanding search efforts beyond Madhya Pradesh into five other states. Girls were located in Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Rajasthan and elsewhere, with police displaying remarkable sensitivity, urgency and commitment to each case. All rescued children were safely handed back to their families. District-wise figures included: Indore (Rural) – 55, Dhar – 105, Jhabua – 40, Alirajpur – 12, Khargone – 52, Khandwa – 29, Barwani – 38, and Burhanpur – 16, totalling 347. Cyber Cell teams played a vital role by providing technical support. Using modern tools, they generated leads that helped speed up investigations and improve tracing accuracy. Alongside rescue, efforts are being made to provide a safe environment and support rehabilitation for the recovered children, ensuring long-term security and wellbeing. The operation sent a positive message to the public, restoring families and reinforcing faith in the police. Indore Zone authorities have promised continued focus on such sensitive missions.
