  • | Friday | 6th June, 2025

A police officer has died and over two dozen others were injured when a swarm of bees attacked the Police Training School on Maksi Road in Ujjain. Among those injured, an Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) is reported to be in a serious condition and is receiving treatment in hospital. The deceased has been identified as Inspector Ramesh Kumar Dhurve, in charge of Pawasa Thana. Following the incident, some police officers and cleaning staff raised concerns about the handling of warnings related to the presence of bees. They said that despite informing the Superintendent of Police Anjana Tiwari about the possible risk several times, no action was taken. Questions are now being raised over the circumstances leading to the attack, with officers and local residents suggesting that if precautions had been taken earlier, the incident might have been avoided. The situation remains under review.
