A 21-year-old driver was brutally assaulted and shot twice by a group of six armed assailants in the TT Nagar area late at night after he refused to withdraw his involvement in an old case against them. The victim, Lokesh Ahirwar, a resident of Priyadarshini Nagar who works for a travel agency, was standing near his house around midnight when the assailants surrounded him. They pressured him to settle an old dispute and withdraw the case filed against them, but when Ahirwar refused, the situation escalated violently. According to the police, the assailants, identified as Tilak Kamle, Prince, Purab Vishwas, Smiley alias Tanishq, Priyansh, and Nihal, had a long-standing conflict with Ahirwar, which stemmed from a case registered against both parties a year ago. Despite Ahirwars refusal to compromise, the assailants attacked him physically, mercilessly beating him before firing two gunshots at him. Fortunately, neither bullet struck the victim, with one hitting a nearby wall. After the attack, the miscreants fled the scene, issuing threats and leaving the victim seriously injured. Upon receiving the report of the shooting, police quickly cordoned off the area and launched a search operation. The Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) team was called in to collect evidence from the scene, and two empty cartridges were recovered. CCTV footage capturing the incident was also obtained, providing crucial evidence that will aid the investigation. ASI Jasram Singh Yadav confirmed that the accused are known criminals with previous criminal histories. Despite their efforts to evade capture, police have launched a manhunt, conducting raids at various potential hideouts. An FIR has been registered under several sections, including attempt to murder, assault, and illegal firearm use. Local residents of Priyadarshini Nagar expressed their shock and alarm over the brazen attack, calling for stricter police action against repeat offenders. Many residents voiced their concerns about the increasing frequency of such violent incidents and demanded that the authorities take more stringent measures to prevent further attacks. The police assured the public that they are taking swift action and have promised to intensify patrols in the area to ensure the safety of residents. The case has sparked a renewed conversation about the rise in violent crimes and the need for stronger law enforcement to tackle repeat offenders. As the search for the accused continues, the community remains on edge, hoping that the perpetrators will soon be brought to justice.
