Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav praised the resilience and determination of Divyangjans (persons with disabilities) during a special program at the Pandit Khushilal Sharma Government Ayurveda College and Institute on Wednesday. The program, aimed at distributing appointment letters and providing other benefits to Divyangjans, was attended by several distinguished officials, including Public Works Minister Rakesh Singh and Social Justice Minister Narayan Singh Kushwaha. In his address, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav emphasized the governments unwavering commitment to empowering Divyangjans by highlighting their abilities, qualifications, and perseverance. "Divyangjans have earned their place in society through their own capabilities and positivity. Though God may have reduced one faculty in their body, He compensates by enhancing many other capabilities. Divyangjans are a valuable part of our society," Dr. Yadav said. The Chief Minister further added that the state government had implemented a 2% reservation for Divyangjans in government jobs (direct recruitment) and expressed his dedication to solving any issues they face. The philosophy of our government is Sarve Bhavantu Sukhinah (May all be happy), he remarked, underscoring the governments continued efforts to support persons with disabilities through various welfare schemes. The term Divyang, introduced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has, according to Dr. Yadav, significantly changed societys perception of people with disabilities, fostering a more positive outlook. During the event, Dr. Yadav inaugurated the program by lighting the ceremonial lamp. He distributed appointment letters to Divyangjans from the Public Works, Archaeology, and Water Resources Departments and also provided smartphones and motorized bicycles to the beneficiaries.  Furthermore, he released a booklet on the Rights of Divyangjans Act 2016, published in Braille script, to make the information accessible to all.   In his speech, Dr. Yadav also cited examples of renowned personalities such as the great poet Surdas, Ashtavakra, Swami Rambhadracharya, and musician Shri Ravindra Jain, who made significant contributions to society despite their physical disabilities. "These great personalities succeeded not through physical beauty but through their expertise and contributions to society," he stated.   The event was attended by Bhopal Mayor Mrs. Malti Rai, MLA Shri Bhagwan Das Sabnani, and other officials. The attendees were also treated to a welcome song by Divyang students, and the Chief Minister and the guests were honored with Tulsi plants.   The event coincided with the birthday of Public Works Minister Shri Rakesh Singh, whom Dr. Yadav congratulated during his address.   This event marks another step in Madhya Pradeshs ongoing efforts to create an inclusive and supportive environment for Divyangjans, ensuring their full participation in the states growth and development.
