Presidents visit spurs intensive security review

With President Droupadi Murmu scheduled to visit Barwani on June 19, Indore Zone Inspector General, Anurag, held a high-level security review with senior police officials on Tuesday. The meeting took place at the Barwani SP Office, where IG Anurag, DIG Nimar Range Siddharth Bahuguna, and SP Jagdish Dawar discussed law and order, traffic planning, and intelligence measures across the district in light of the upcoming visit. Key directives issued included implementing a three-tier security system at the helipad, programme venue, and all other locations along the presidential route. Station house officers were instructed to step up monitoring of suspicious activity and the analysis of intelligence reports. Dog squads, bomb squads, and anti-sabotage teams will inspect key sites regularly. Trained personnel will be deployed at traffic diversion points, and CCTV surveillance and drone mapping will be conducted by the Special Branch. Officers were directed to keep staff on high alert, finalise duty charts early, and monitor hotels and locals around the event site as needed. IG Anurag emphasised strict adherence to protocol. Even the slightest lapse will be unacceptable, he warned, stressing teamwork, vigilance, and early completion of preparations. He reminded the force that citizen convenience and courtesy must accompany tight security. All arrangements are to be finalised 48 hours before the event, with field supervision and timely reporting prioritised. The meeting concluded with attendance from Special Branch officials and senior police personnel involved in the security grid for the Presidents upcoming visit.
