MLA Rameshwar Sharma on Tuesday inspected the Rs 305 crore flyover project at Bairagarh, urging faster construction to benefit thousands of daily commuters. Sharma reached the site early morning and reviewed the progress of the double-decker flyover being built from Laukhedi sewage pump to Jhulelal immersion ghat. Spanning 3 km, it will be Madhya Pradeshs first of its kind. He directed PWD officials to ensure timely relocation of power poles and to address other bottlenecks. The structure, 19 metres wide, is expected to ease congestion in Bairagarh (Sant Hirdaram Nagar). While checking the drainage system near the flyovers service road, Sharma noticed a key drain covered with an iron sheet. Calling it encroachment, he ordered the lock broken and action against violators. Conveying displeasure to officials he described the site as vital to drainage system in the area and questioned them over their silence. He also visited the Lalghati grade separator, Sant Nagar-Indore Road flyover, and the Railway Overbridge (ROB) at Phatak Road. Sharma reviewed progress at each site and shared instructions with engineers. Further stops included the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana site at Bhauri, a proposed power substation at Bairagarh village, and the upcoming six-lane flyover on the Bhopal bypass. Officials from the PWD, district administration, municipal corporation, and police accompanied the inspection, noting Sharmas emphasis on timelines, public convenience, and anti-encroachment measures ahead of the monsoon.
