Madhya Pradesh Governor Mangubhai Patel on Monday described the Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan as a historic initiative for tribal empowerment and inclusive development, launched by the Central Government to mark the 150th birth anniversary of Lord Birsa Munda. Addressing a state-level camp in Jholiapur village, Sehore district, Governor Patel said the campaign aims to ensure the welfare, empowerment, and comprehensive development of the tribal community. The focus, he said, is on extending the benefits of government schemes and services to tribal citizens who have so far remained deprived, enabling them to become self-reliant and active participants in nation-building. Governor Patel noted that 18 Central Government ministries are working in a coordinated manner under the campaign, implementing a range of welfare schemes including PM Awas Yojana, Ayushman Bharat, PM Ujjwala Yojana, and the National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM). He emphasized that collective responsibility is key to the success of the campaign. Its true purpose will be fulfilled only when every section of society joins hands to encourage and support tribal citizens in availing the benefits of these schemes, he said.  He also assured that the progress of the campaign is being closely monitored, and he plans to revisit Sehore soon for a personal review. As part of the programme, Governor Patel visited exhibitions organized by various departments to showcase their services and initiatives under the campaign. He also flagged off a Prachar Rath to raise awareness about the Dharti Aaba Abhiyan across tribal regions. MLA Ramakant Bhargava also addressed the gathering, while Collector Balaguru K. presented an overview of the district-level implementation of the campaign. District Panchayat CEO Dr. Neha Jain delivered the vote of thanks, acknowledging the contributions of all stakeholders. The event marked a significant step toward bridging developmental gaps and ensuring equitable access to welfare schemes for tribal communities across Madhya Pradesh.
