26-year-old youth killed in road accident

A 26-year-old youth, Surendra Rajak, tragically lost his life in a road accident at Lalghati on Wednesday evening while returning from Bhainsakhedi with critical heart medication for his ailing father. A resident of Malipura Peergate and recently married just two months ago, Surendra worked at a local jewellery shop. According to Kohefiza police station in-charge KG Shukla, Surendra was riding his motorcycle back from Bhainsakhedi after collecting an injection for his father, who is admitted at Chirayu Hospital. In a rush to reach home, he reportedly took the wrong side of the Lalghati bridge. While on this route, a speeding Bullet motorcycle collided head-on with Surendras bike. He sustained serious head injuries and was rushed to the hospital by local residents. Despite medical efforts, he succumbed to his injuries during treatment on Thursday morning. The two youths riding the Bullet also sustained injuries and are currently receiving treatment. Their statements have not yet been recorded. Police have seized the Bullet motorcycle involved in the accident and initiated a detailed investigation to determine the sequence of events. Surendras body was handed over to the family after a post-mortem was conducted. The incident has cast a pall of sorrow over the local community, as residents remember Surendra as a responsible and devoted son.
