No delays in TCs, Indore Collector warns schools

  • | Thursday | 3rd July, 2025

Schools in Indore must immediately issue Transfer Certificates (TCs) whenever parents request them, District Collector Ashish Singh warned on Tuesday, cautioning errant institutions of strict action. The directive followed complaints raised by parents of students enrolled at Agarwal Public School during the weekly public hearing at the Collectorate. They informed the Collector that, despite repeated applications, the school had refused to issue TCs for their children. Taking immediate note of the complaint, Singh instructed the District CEO of the Janpad Panchayat to investigate and ensure the parents received the certificates promptly and in accordance with the rules. This should not happen in any other school, the Collector said, making it clear that denying parents their right to withdraw their children would not be tolerated. The move aims to curb arbitrary practices by private school operators and uphold parents rights in school-related decisions. Senior district officials also heard a large number of applications related to housing, land disputes, and support for persons with disabilities seeking employment. Singh directed officials to resolve each issue with due seriousness and to set clear timelines where immediate action was not possible.
