CM Naveen takes populist scheme route to win heartsThe reclusive Odisha chief minister, Naveen Patnaik, has been silently but steadily strengthening governance and reaching out to the electorate as the country is inching closer towards the Lok Sabha and assembly elections in 2019.
He often speaks to people over videoconferencing while allocating for different projects as demanded by villagers under Ama Goan...Ama Bikash (over village.. our development) scheme.
Naveen, the longest serving chief minister of the state, has always allowed his works to do the talking.
The rural connect programme was launched on March 5, the birth anniversaery of former chief minister the late Biju Patnaik.
During the videoconferencing, the chief minister instantly approves development projects worth Rs 10 lakh.
