Amit Shah targets booths in meeting with workers

BHUBANESWAR: BJP president Amit Shah highlighted the need to develop booth-specific strategy during his closed-door interactions with party leaders and ground-level workers, here on Sunday.Shah asked those in-charge of Shakti Kendras (panchayats) to aggressively reach out to party supporters by visiting their homes with leaflets highlighting the good works of the Narendra Modi government and connect with smartphone users in each booth through social media. He addressed around 2,400 Shakti Kendra representatives drawn from three Lok Sabha constituencies of Bhubaneswar, Puri and Cuttack during a day-long visit to the state.Despite the recent electoral setbacks, Shah reiterated the party would win at least 120 of the 147 assembly seats in Odisha in 2019. "To achieve that goal, booth-level strategies hold the key. That was Shah's broader message," a party insider said.
