"Accordingly, 71 additional posts of additional district welfare officers, nine additional posts of district welfare officers, eight additional posts of deputy directors, three additional posts of joint directors and one post of additional director will be created," said chief secretary AP Padhi.The cabinet also cleared a proposal to restructure the geologist cadre under rural water supply and sanitation wing for better supervision and maintenance of water sources and to streamline the rural water supply system.The entry level post of geologists has been upgraded from Group-B to Group-A (junior branch). With this, some additional posts will also be created at the level of deputy director, joint director and additional director.In another step towards strengthening the tribal development cooperative corporation (TDCC), the state cabinet approves to convert its debt worth Rs 36.39 crore as equities and share capital investment of state government in the corporation.This will enable TDCC to be a debt free agency and to avail fresh bank loans to undertake various welfare measures. BHUBANESWAR: The state cabinet headed by chief minister Naveen Patnaik on Friday approved a proposal to restructure the cadre of Odisha Welfare Service (OWS) and Odisha sub-ordinate Welfare Service (OSWS) to ensure better implementation of welfare programmes for SC/ST and backward communities.With the restructure, the state government aims to create additional posts who will be residential schools and hostels managed by the state SC/ST department and micro projects meant for empowerment of particular vulnerable tribal groups (PVTGs) for better administration, official sources said.OWS officers with adequate field experience in managing educational institutions and hostels, scholarships, projects under integrated tribal development agency will be appointed at state level institutions due to the restructure, official sources said.
