How Men Lampoon The Law With A Pathological Disregard For Animals

Whether hanging a wild leopard in public glare in Assam or hanging a dead monkey nobody knows for what, or the ghastly incident of killing of an elephant inserting explosives in food in Kerala, and now killing a crocodile in Odisha’s Malkangiri district, and alleged feasting on its flesh, it all negates the self glories of men and leaves only the memorable errors those are being committed to go down in the history.

What a role reversal! It was unheard of, that men devouring the meat of a crocodile and that too after a senseless exhibition of the dead animal in a village square, chopping its flesh in shreds and eating! What are these absurd acts mocking at the preamble of wildlife conservation . Some thoughts must have gone into the mind of the one who scripted the constitution but, now the man has reached a state where the value of nature has become an enigma itself.

Last few decades bring to the fore that, all the ravages of nature have failed to teach us anything , the stunning disorders in climate, oceanic invasions,  illness and now the most recent menace of a virus, all are merely being given a side-glance. There are multiple assurances being given by the authorities, both written and unwritten, regarding preventions and convictions on many incidents of cruelty to animals but we are in a system that lingers to an extent of an weary disgust and the perpetrators of such crimes become pathologically dodgy . When such an ugly exhibition of the cruelty takes place in the middle of a village, it only speaks of the deterioration of mind and sensibility that no law of the land can cure.
