AMRI introduces COVID 19 virtual Home service facilities

Bhubaneswar: As number of COVID-19 positive cases increase, which are mostly asymptomatic or with mildly symptoms, with COVID-19 detection tests increasing, AMRI Hospitals, Bhubaneswar has introduced its 'Virtual Home Care' package. The service will provide support to patients who have been detected as positive for COVID-19 but do not have any symptoms or have mild symptoms that do not need hospitalisation. The package will support to such patient with remote monitoring, as patients stay in the comfort of their homes. The service is a step forward towards the care of COVID-19 patients, helping not only to educate them but also to keep an eye on their health and well-being monitoring. Under the 14-day 'Virtual Home Care' package, AMRI will provide two doctors consultations in a week and one dietician consultation for the whole period, besides monitoring by AMRI nurses on a daily basis.

The package will include online and telephonic consultations, monitoring of health parameters through instruments provided by AMRI, along with Emergency support service, in case the patients condition worsens, informed Ms. Nilanjana Mukherjee, AVP, Operations & Administration and Unit In-charge, AMRI Hospitals-Bhubaneswar. “Under the package, a well-being kit will also be provided, which will help patients to keep regular track of their vitals even at home,” she said. “This way, patients will be able to seek consultation and round-the-clock screening at a fraction of the cost of hospitalisation,” Ms Mukherjee added. Besides masks, gloves and sanitizer, the well-being kit will include a pulse oxymeter, a BP monitor, and a digital thermometer, devices that a COVID-19 positive patient will need to keep an eye on their health parameters,” she said. Mr Rupak Barua, Group CEO, AMRI Hospitals, said, “A number of patients even with mild symptoms are now opting for home care treatment. Since they will also need to be monitored regularly under the supervision of doctors, we have designed the Virtual Home Care, where doctors will offer treatment guidelines and regularly monitor as patients stay homes. This way, their recovery will be quick and screening will ensure the patient can be shifted to the hospital; immediately, if condition worsens.” He further said that AMRI Hospitals has set up a special portal for the package, where patients can regularly upload their health update, which will be screened by doctors every day. “Our doctors will interact with patients online and over telephone twice a week while nurses will keep in touch with patients on daily basis,” he added.
