School and Mass Education Minister Samir Ranjan Das has announced today that in view of the COVID-19 pandemic situation, BSE, Odisha has cancelled the Class 10 examination schedule from May 3.
The Odisha Board has cancelled the Class X examination. Board examination of class X has been cancelled given the massive surge in Covid-19 cases in the second wave. The government says that the marks of the students will be decided on the basis of internal assessment. Students who wish to appear in the tenth-grade examination will get a chance to appear in the examination later. Significantly, in view of the increasing corona infection, board examinations either stand cancelled or postponed in many states. The students protested in front of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik`s residence in connection with the cancellation of the Class X examination. After the student protests, the government has decided to cancel the Class X board exams and give marks through internal assessment. However, students who want to take the exam will get a chance to appear once after the Coronavirus is cured. At present, the government has not taken any decision regarding the board examination of class XII. The examination for the twelfth will begin on May 19.
Students from class 1 to 9 and 11th grade will be passed without examination.
