Odisha: Petrol breaches Rs 100/litre mark in twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack

Friday`s 40 paise hike has taken pushed the petrol price over Rs 100 mark to Rs 100.1 in Bhubaneswar, while Diesel is priced at Rs 97.25 in the Odisha Capital.
Continuous increase in petrol-diesel prices proves to be the final nail in the coffin of an Indian common man, who was already carrying the weight of an ailing economy amid the Covid-19 lockdown.
Friday`s 40 paise hike has taken pushed the petrol price over Rs 100 mark to Rs 100.1 in Bhubaneswar, while Diesel is priced at Rs 97.25 in the Odisha Capital.
In Cuttack, prices of petrol and diesel stood at Rs 100.27 and Rs 97.50, respectively.
Last week diesel crossed the Rs 100 per litre mark in the Malkangiri and Koraput districts of Odisha. After remaining stable for two straight days, Petrol price has once again been hiked today by 40 paise/litre while Diesel prices remained unchanged.
Fuel prices have touched an all-time high after today`s fresh hike. The price of petrol per litre in Delhi has reached Rs 99.16 while diesel is priced at Rs 89.18.
In Chennai, petrol is priced at Rs 100.13 while Diesel is priced at Rs 93.72. Petrol in Mumbai is priced at Rs 105.24 and diesel by Rs 96.72 per litre today. Petrol price in Kolkata is Rs 99.04 and Diesel 92.03.
Petrol price has been hiked 34 times and Diesel price 33 times since the announcement of the election results on 3 May. In the past sixty days, the prices have been hiked on 33 days while they remained stable on 27 days.
Petrol has become costlier by Rs 8.76 per litre in this period itself, while diesel has also become costlier by Rs 8.45 per litre.
