Boudh Regional Transport Officer (RTO) Basanta Kumar Mohapatra was on Thursday found in possession of properties worth crores of rupees after Vigilance officials raided multiple places in connection with allegation against him regarding disproportionate assets.   Simultaneous house searches were conducted by the anti-corruption agency on the strength of search warrants issued by Special Judge, Vigilance, Bhubaneswar.   The following assets in the names of Mohapatra and his family members were so far unearthed:   1) A flat at Utkal Signature, Pahala, Bhubaneswar worth Rs 1 crore.   2) Shopping outlets at Utkal Kanika Galleria Mall, Gautam Nagar, Bhubaneswar worth about Rs 2 crore.   3) A 3-BHK flat at Utkal Royal Residency, Kalpana Square, Bhubaneswar worth around Rs 1 crore.   4) Rs 1.35 crore paid in advance to a realtor for purchase of a 5-BHK flat at Iconic Tower, Kalarahanga, Bhubaneswar.   5) Rs 88 lakh paid in advance to purchase a flat in Bengaluru.   6) Cash of Rs 1,16,700.   7) FDs worth crores of rupees suspected in various bank accounts. Bank, postal, insurance and other deposits were being ascertained.   Further probe by the Vigilance was underway.
