The AMOFOI taking up cudgels against the caste system and championing love marriage celebrated Valentines Day in its office here. Co-founder of AMOFOI Madam Swapna Bijayini chaired the function. Founder B Ramchandra CST Voltaire explained the genesis of the celebration of the International Lovers Day or Valentines Day to promote the cause of human dignity, individual freedom and eliminate all social prejudices based on caste, creed and social status. Unconventional love marriages are highly necessary throughout the world to free mankind from the scourge of war and bloodshed, he opined.  On the occasion, five pairs of lovers got wedded in AMOFOI by exchange of garlands. They are Satyabrata Muduli, a young businessman of Pratap Nagari area of Cuttack Sadar and Payal Pradhan from Nandankanan area of Bhubaneswar; Suban Mahammad, businessman and Jema Behera both from Nijigada village under Hindol PS of Dhenkanal; Akash Barik from Bhuban, Dhenkanal and Mamatamayee Sundaray of Khordha Tangi; Umakanta Behera from Cuttack Tangi area and Subhasini Gagarai from Thakurmunda, Mayurbhanj and Ananda Das, businessman and Pravasini Sahoo, both from Mahakalpada area of Kendrapada. They took the pledge to go for a one-child family for the betterment of society.
