Bill Gates's day out in Odisha with a cup of coffee, honoured with Humanitarian Award 2023 as well

Leading global philanthropist and co-founder of Microsoft Bill Gates had a fantastic day out in Bhubaneswar. While admiring many signature steps taken by the Odisha chief minister Naveen Patnaik on Wednesday applauded the initiatives aimed at women empowerment through the Mission Shakti bazaar, an exclusive scheme pioneered by Patnaik.

While visiting the Mission Shakti Bazar Gates had a taste of the coffee that is produced in Koraput which has already had a high demand in and outside the country.

Besides that Gates held many discussions with the chief minister on various other issues.

Gates conferred with Humanitarian Award. That was not all as Bill Gates was conferred with the prestigious KISS Humanitarian Award 2023 by Dr Achyut Samanta.

Bill Gates, co-founder of Microsoft and co-chair of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation was honored with the KISS Humanitarian Award 2023 in a significant recognition of his philanthropic work. The ceremony took place on February 28, 2024, in Bhubaneswar, Odisha.

The ceremony took place on February 28, 2024, in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, acknowledging Gates for his unparalleled contributions to enhancing global health, and education, and addressing climate change through innovative technology solutions aimed at reducing inequality.

“Awarding Bill Gates with the  Humanitarian Award not only honors his exceptional contributions but also elevates the prestige of this recognition. His acceptance sets a new benchmark for humanitarian work globally. It is a profound honor for us that Bill Gates is joining the esteemed roster of our awardees ” said Achyut Samanta.

"Thank you so much for this wonderful award, and for welcoming me here. Though I should be the one congratulating you on all you have accomplished," said  Gates. He lauded Dr. Samanta`s vision and dedication to providing quality education to indigenous communities highlighted the importance of civic engagement and a community-first approach to education” Gates said while accepting the award.
