Sarat Chandra Buruda who alleged that he was asked to pay Rs 40 lakh in exchange for a ticket for the upcoming elections was trashed by the Malkangiri Congress on Wednesday.   According to Buruda, he was allegedly approached and pressured to pay the sum for a recommendation to higher level of power within the party. Additionally, he asserted that he was also forced to send Rs 8,000 for a dinner party supposedly attended by the party members.   Responding to these claims, Malkangiri District Congress president Govinda Patra vehemently refuted the allegations dubbing them as baseless. Patra emphasized the disciplined nature of the Congress party and assured that a thorough inquiry would be conducted into the matter. G Srinivas Rao, Ishak Khosla, Mangu Khilla, and P Kesu Rao among others were present.
